The modernization process to the infrastructure of the Terminal 2 at the Valparaiso’s port is one of the most important advance the port activity and the city will experiment in the next years, this project is part of the strategic development of the coastline established by Valparaiso´s Port Company (VPC), where Terminal Cerros de Valparaiso – TCVAL, OHL Subsidiary (Cerros Valparaiso Terminal) contributes as a relevant actor.

This work considers an investment that exceeds USD $400,000,000 designated to the development of a project that will contemplate the increment of cargo transfer capacity; it will integrate two new berths, will increase the support areas, and will maximize the operative current conditions of the port.

It is important to note that the extension and depth of the front part of the terminal’s berth will allow the operation of the fifth generation super of Post Panamax container ships, for over 350 meters long and 15 meters draft, the ones that today due to its big size, do not have access to Valparaiso’s Port.

Once the modernization project is concluded and its operation, TCVAL expects to transfer a million of TEUs a year.
